What's up in India? This was my current event. Remember our call

Okay, this is ridiculous. I did this for my current event and it is so haunting to me. We just need to know what is going on in the world. This is what I wrote.

India is majorly struggling with the malnutrition of women and children. Forty three percent of children under five are growing improperly. Some are obscenely skinny while others are just short. The problem is so common that the people don’t really know when the children are malnourished because most of the children look this way. Recently there has been tremendous economic growth, but the problem has only worsened strangely. India has one of the biggest programs to feed children, but it is not working or being approached correctly. The places don’t have scales or medical things needed. Mothers barely even know when it is happening to their children because they are not aware of how the children should be fed. Many women do not eat adequately during pregnancy. The nursing of the children fails because the women cannot produce enough milk with nutrients. More diseases are rising. India was compared to China, but now China’s percentage of malnutrition is seven percent. The prime-minister of India says these hungry children are an embarrassment to the country. It is a democracy that is failing. In this article, it spoke of how many are seeing this to be a sign that an authoritarian government is more effective then such a democracy.

This is important because we must be educated about what is going on in other areas of the planet we are living in. Such a problem makes us think about big questions such as: Is their religion trapping them to the devil? and What if we decided to change the world? What if Christians went to a country that directly opposed what we believe and fed the children of the rising generation? What would happen when those starving Indian children found out that a Christian helped their lives? America can of course make such a change as well, but it would end at friendships. I think that the church is breaking out into a new movement. This is important because it shows us just where the movement needs to go.
